I have to link to his post. He has changed my mind and feelings on V-day. I was feeling pretty crappy this week and could feel it getting worst. My mood was becoming sour.  All due to the fact that I wont have what I want this week. Ah heck with it. I am a big girl who knows she is loved.

I want to link to his post for those who don’t read him. Perhaps you should, he is a good man.

Life is still good…

Scott reminded me of the basis of a father daughter relationship. More specifically, MY relationship with MY dad.  everyday Scott brings his lil girl milk and carries her to the bathroom. She will remember this and tell her husband, children and even grandchildren about it.

My dad, he would read or hum ( the man never knew the words or only parts of the song..) the song Pop a top to me.

I can hear him now as I type…” i would like for you to listen to a joke I heard today, about a clown hum hum hum hum hum hum with tear drops streaming down his face, Pop a top again, i just got time for one more round, so set em up my friend, and I;ll be gone and you can let some other fool sit down. )  *now knows that was having a beer…lol*

He would then tell me the same thing he told me EVERY single night, “Tracy Lynn, dad is going to get the moon for you tonight. It will be hanging on the corner of the house in the morning.”

Sure enough, the next day when i woke I would dart to the kitchen door to look out and see if it was there. Of course it wasn’t. he would tell me the sun chased it away or the rope broke.  As I grew older I knew that moon wasn’t going to be there but I like our ritual so I continued with it.

I plan to use that one on my niece… I bet her mom don’t remember it like i do. more than likely her mom remembers the cup of tea also waiting for us when we got up!!!!!
